This series consists of maps referred to by the Department of Lands Planning and Environment as Topographical mapping (Military Historical maps) prepared by Australian Section, Imperial General Staff or Royal Australian Survey Corps, specifically to support defence deployments. The maps show the following built environment as explained with a legend: types of roads with width and weight, telegraph or telephone line, high tension power line, electric power station, railway, railway station with siding, railway siding, landing strip, seaplane base, seaplane mooring area, post office, church, windpump and more. The natural resources shown include: permanent water, non-perennial stream, water channel, tank or dam, fathom lines, swamp or marsh, and contours (numbers read facing uphill). There is an Index on each sheet to adjoining sheets. Scale 1: 25,000 with contour interval 25 feet.
